Sierra Vista Little League is looking for men and women ages 12 and above to support our league as volunteer umpires!! You'll receive training on the Little League playing rules and mechanics of umpiring by Veteran Umpires; you'll also have access to the on-line Little league Umpire Resource Center. Your umpire jersey and cap will be provided for free and umpire gear will be provided for games. Umpires also get free water for games as well as a free meal from the snack bar after each game.

To recognize our volunteer umpires for their dedication to the league, Sierra Vista Little League will provide the following incentives for achieving designated levels of volunteer Umpire service during the 2019 season:

  • 10 Games = Special Embroidered Cap
  • 25 Games = Special Embroidered Jersey (color of choice)
  • 50 Games = Special Jacket
  • 100 Games = Set of Plate Gear (Mask, Chest Protector Shin Guards)
  • All volunteer Umpires will receive a special recognition pin
  • One umpire will receive recognition as the volunteer umpire of the year
  • Tuition assistance to attend Training Clinics
We will be looking at more incentives for 2020 as we've reached a critical loss in number of umpires as a few of our veteran umpires have retired or moved away and we have very few new prospects starting .

Please remember that your vocal criticism to umpire during a game may mean one less volunteer umpire for the next season. It is a thankless job and only one team and the parents end up appreciating the outcome. Umpires are crucial to your players game! If you feel the umpire is doing a terrible job, you can fill out a volunteer form and try to due better. Please do, we'll appreciate the help.
